    The Vocal Team and Band are both considered higher tiers of leadership within the CATM Worship Community and are very visible positions of leadership in the church body. This application is designed to be thorough and about much more than musical skill/ability. A full understanding of, commitment to, and agreement with the vision and culture of Church at the Mill are required. Please read the requirements below and consider if they are present or possible for you at this time before filling out the application. If you are unsure at any time, please email julie@churchatthemill.com with the subject line "Seeking Worship Ministry First Steps" before hitting submit on this form. Please understand that you will not receive a yes or no at your interview. Worship staff provides custom next steps for each applicant based on various factors.

  • WORSHIP MINISTRY LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • PLEASE DO NOT SKIP. Read thoroughly before completing your application.

    Worship ministry leadership is held accountable in the following areas of participation and dedication to the church body: Covenant member of CATM or actively in process; Attend CATM services on campus weekly, not just when you are scheduled/serving; Consistently engaged in a CATM small group (or in process of joining one) or in an active and consistent discipleship relationship(or willing to pursue one); Not a brand new attendee of CATM; Maturing in your faith and not a recent convert; Able to authentically communicate the story of coming to a saving faith in Christ; Vocalist has spent a season with the CATM Worship Choir or attending the All Campus Choir practices at Central Campus if you are attending a campus without an active choir; 18 years or older; clear background check; personal holiness that includes, but is not limited to, areas such as social media, alcohol/drug abuse, sexual immorality, prideful attitude, anger/rage problems, inability to submit to leadership, gossip/stirring up strife, unbiblical lifestyle. There are also specific guidelines regarding stage-appropriate wardrobe, rehearsal practices/procedures, backstage/greenroom protocol, spiritual preparation, and stage presence that are relevant at this leadership level. Proficient use of technology is required with Planning Center and Music Stand. Band may use iPads for on stage music. The Vocal Team must have all music memorized and is expected to attend choir rehearsals each week, not just when scheduled; Campus Vocal Team is strongly encouraged to attend All Campus Choir rehearsals as much as possible for growth and preparation. Vocal Team must be proficient in singing both melody and harmony, and must be able to hold those parts when singing with others. Being a part of the scheduled Vocal Team does not guarantee the opportunity to be the main worship leader/vocalist on a song. Please understand that many factors beyond musical skill levels go into these decisions. Band and Vocal Team members are scheduled at the discretion of the CATM Worship Staff. Servant leadership is at the heart of these teams. Trusting and coming under the covering of the CATM Worship Staff Leadership and the CATM Leadership as a whole is essential.
